Chase Law has years of experience helping individuals in their legal needs, whether it be in employment matters, real estate, starting up a business or in wills and estates.
EMPLOYMENT Shirley Chase's previous experience as Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry and years of representing companies and employees in employment matters gives her insight into the laws and regulations that affect how an employee is treated, what an employee is paid, how fast the employee is paid, whether the employee is being paid minimum wage, if final wages were timely paid and if the employee received proper overtime compensation. Federal and Minnesota law provides for penalties, and sometimes attorneys fees, for employers failure to pay their employees properly.
Shirley Chase has participated in numerous unemployment appeals and overpayment cases successfully obtaining previously denied unemployment benefits. She has also successfully resolved cases involving employer's failing to properly grant medical leave.
It is important that you call Chase Law or Shirley Chase as soon as your employer fails to properly pay you. There are statutes of limitations covering employment claims. For example, Minnesota statute of limitations for overtime only allows you to go back two years. However, if your employer knowingingly and willfully violated the overtime laws, federal law allows you go back 3 years.
REAL ESTATE Shirley Chase has more than 25 years experience in representing buyers, sellers and owners of real estate, including commerical and residential properties. Shirley has represented landlords and tenants in leases and in resolution of disputes.
